Uterine Fibroids

Acupuncture for Uterine Fibroids

Uterine Fibroids affect 20% – 50% of women aged between 35 and 50.  They are benign swellings in the muscle of the womb. They can cause excessive menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, recurrent bladder infections and constipation.

Fibroids can also interfere with fertility by creating hormonal imbalance or obstructing the uterus so that the embryo cannot survive.

Traditional Chinese Medicine views fibroids as a stagnation of blood so Acupuncture will move the blood and stop it stagnating in areas where it should not and this will help to resolve the fibroid mass.

Acupuncture will offer symptom relief within a month and a significant reduction in the size of the fibroid within three to six menstrual cycles.
